WHO WE AREThe Order Sons & Daughters of Italy in America® (OSDIA) is the largest and oldest national organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States.Founded in 1905 as a mutual aid society for the early Italian immigrants, today OSDIA has hundreds of thousands of members, located in all fifty states and the District of Columbia, making it the leading service and advocacy organization for the nation's estimated 26 million people of Italian descent. OSDIA’S mission includes encouraging the study of Italian language and culture in American schools and universities; preserving Italian American traditions, culture, history and heritage; and promoting closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy.
Like the national organization, members of Leonardo DaVinci Lodge #2992 believe in preserving our Italian heritage and sharing our legacy with family, fellow Italian Americans, and those without Italian roots. Our ancestors gave us a rich and varied culture. We were taught to embrace the arts, education, Italian cuisine, love of family, and a strong work ethic. It is the responsibility of each member to maintain and promote this legacy for future generations.
DaVinci Lodge members exemplify the best of what it is to be Italian American. We are proud and patriotic Americans of Italian heritage. We are the newest lodge in Arizona, being granted our Charter in May 2016, and officers and members were formally installed on June 25, 2016.Webelieve in the principles of OSDIA, support designated national charities, such as Alzheimer’s, Autism, and Colley’s Anemia, and locally St. Vincent DePaul, as well as volunteering in our community.
DaVinci Lodge holds monthly meetings at IronWorks Restaurant in Glendale, AZ (Bell Road & 45th Avenue) to review short and long-term goals of the lodge, to discuss upcoming lodge activities and functions, and fundraising opportunities.
